A New Tour Route Opened in the Karaganda Region

On September 25–26, the Karaganda Region hosted a two-day jeep tour called InfoDrive. The purpose of this trip was to showcase the region’s picturesque nature, open new tourist routes, and establish partnerships in the tourism sector.

Early in the morning, participants gathered at the Visit Karaganda office. Here, guides introduced safety rules and provided instructions on mountain hiking techniques.

The first stop on the route was the Karkaraly Historical and Local History Museum, where participants learned fascinating facts about the district’s history and culture. The group then ascended a high peak near the village of Kimasar, reaching an altitude of approximately 1,100 meters and enjoying stunning views of the surrounding nature. Along the way, the old forester’s house — built without a single nail — also left a strong impression.

In the evening, participants checked in to the Orman and Altyn hotels. The quiet night amidst nature and the morning breeze left a lasting impression.

On the second day, the tour continued to the famous Shaytankol Lake. The combination of clear water, mountain peaks, and natural beauty amazed everyone.

During the tour, a professional guide conducted a master class on pitching tents outdoors. Participants learned how to set up tents correctly, tie knots, fix stakes, and use sleeping bags and thermal mats effectively.

One of the highlights of the route was the Kunanbay Kazy Mosque, a historic site preserved since the 19th century with a special place in the region’s spiritual and cultural life.

On the return journey, the tour stopped at the Zhosaly Health Resort, where participants drank mineral water and took therapeutic baths. The Zhosaly water is known for its natural minerals and healing properties.

Tour results:

B2B meetings were held with local entrepreneurs and recreation centers;

Tour operators expressed interest in developing new routes;

Bloggers and journalists actively shared about the tour: around 30 reels, over 200 stories, reaching more than 1 million people in total;

Foreign tour operators also participated, making agreements to bring tourists to Kazakhstan.

InfoDrive was a unique trip that showcased the Karaganda Region’s tourism from a new perspective.
