—Himalayan bear in Karaganda Zoo against the New Year Toptyzhka comes
      November 13, 2023

Negotiations are currently underway with the Barnaul Zoological Park on this issue, and relevant documentation is being prepared. Karaganda Zoo is constantly adding to its collection of animals. Three black – edged mangobei monkeys have recently settled well here.

They were brought to Karaganda from Armenia. In the wild, mangobeys live in Africa. Two females and one male have settled in our zoo. The Himalayan bear was recently introduced.

      - There are many nuances with documents. We also need to prepare the fence. The Himalayan bearisan animal listed in the Red Book, so it requires special care – " says Gulnara Adambekova, director of the zoo. - We don't buy it, it's a gift from the Barnaul Zoological Park. The man is five years old, his name -is Toptyzhka! In December, our zoo staff will bring with them. He needs to be brought by car.

According to the head of the zoo, in the future, other zoosн will need to find a pair for the bear. They also promised to add exotic llamas and mountain goats to the zoo in the near future.

Last year, the Karaganda Zoo became a member of the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EARAZA). This organization includes Russia, China, Turkey, Germany, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Belarus, Uzbekistan and other countries. Participation in the community expands opportunities for sharing animals and experiences with colleagues from other countries. Today, the zoo's collection includes more than 180 species of animals and about 1,600 individuals. Many of them are listed in the Red Book.
